Multiplayer & Game Backend Services

The infrastructure we run our own games on — offered as integration and custom development for yours.

What we build

Backend integration

Connect your game to the MICHITAI Multiplayer API: player accounts, game data, rooms, matchmaking, leaderboards, friends, moderation.

Realtime networking

WebSocket realtime plus a UDP fast lane (MUR1) for position/state updates — the same transport Mafia Deck Online ships with.

Custom features

Backend features the public API doesn't cover yet — new endpoints, custom game data shapes, private deployments.

SDKs for your stack

Official SDKs for Unity/C#, .NET, Java, Python, C++ and JavaScript — and the source is open, so your engine choice stays flexible.

Why not build it yourself?

You can — and for some teams that's the right answer. But accounts, tokens, matchmaking queues, leaderboards, profanity moderation and realtime infrastructure took us real engineering time to get right. If your game needs these systems and they're not your differentiator, integrating a running service is the cheaper path to a playable build.

Self-serve is the default: the API has full docs, an OpenAPI spec, and free per-key tokens — most games never need a services engagement at all. api.michitai.com

Typical engagements

Integration assist: your game already works offline and you want accounts, rooms and realtime play added — we integrate the SDK into your project and hand over working, documented code.

Custom backend work: features outside the public API — new endpoint types, unusual matchmaking rules, private deployments — scoped per project with a written contract.

Architecture review: if you already have a backend and want a second opinion on data models, realtime design or scaling limits, we review and report — no obligation to migrate to our service.
