Mafia Deck Online — Steam version
Last updated: October 5, 2026
1. Introduction
Hello! I'm Nichita Levandovici, an indie game developer from Moldova. Mafia Deck Online is an online multiplayer social-deduction game — because you play with other people through my servers, the game needs to process some information to work. This policy explains what is collected, why, and what your rights are.
2. Information the Game Collects
- Account info: the display name you pick for yourself and an anonymous player ID/token created for your account.
- Character customization: the appearance choices you make for your in-game character.
- Gameplay data: the rooms you join, your in-game actions (cards played, votes cast, night choices), and match results used for leaderboards.
- Technical data: your IP address and standard server logs, which are needed to connect you to matches and keep the service secure.
- Steam account data: if you sign in through Steam, the game may use your Steam persona name and Steam ID for matchmaking — see section 4.
3. What the Game Does NOT Collect
- No free-text chat and no voice chat — players communicate only with preset discussion cards, so no message content exists to store.
- No ads, no third-party analytics SDKs, no trackers inside the game.
- No access to your contacts, photos, files, microphone, or camera.
4. Information Collected by Steam (Valve Corporation)
When you purchase, download, or play the game on Steam, Valve Corporation collects data according to their own privacy policy — for example your Steam account, IP address, playtime, and achievements.
Read Steam's privacy policy here: https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/
5. What Other Players Can See
Other players in your room can see your display name, character appearance, and in-game actions (cards you play, votes, eliminations). Match results may appear on public leaderboards under your display name.
Please pick a nickname you're comfortable sharing — don't use your real name, email, or other personal details as your display name.
6. How I Use This Information
- To run matchmaking and host game rooms
- To show leaderboards and match results
- To moderate the game (AFK auto-removal, removing disruptive players)
- To keep the service secure and fix bugs
I do not sell your data and I do not share it with advertisers.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
I keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and associated data, email support@michitai.com with the subject "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" and I'll remove everything, usually within a few days.
8. Children
The game is designed to be family-friendly — communication is limited to preset card phrases with no open chat. However, it is not directed at children under 13 (or under the digital-consent age in your country), and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you're a parent and believe your child created an account, write to support@michitai.com and I'll delete it.
9. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@michitai.com.
10. Security
All communication between the game and my servers uses encrypted HTTPS. Only the minimum data needed to run the game is stored.
11. International Transfers
Game servers may be located outside your country. By playing online you agree that your data may be processed where the servers are hosted.
12. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, I'll update the "Last updated" date and post the new version on this page.
